My story begins between two worlds – Sri Lanka, where my roots lie, and Europe, where I have lived since my youth. I grew up surrounded by the lush nature of Sri Lanka, vibrant traditions, and warm hospitality. At the same time, I experienced European lifestyle and culture. After completing my diploma in tourism and languages in Italy, I founded my first company Nivartana in Germany in 2021. The goal was to bring fair-trade organic spices, herbs, and handmade products from Sri Lanka to Europe. This experience showed me how much value and undiscovered beauty Sri Lanka holds – far beyond what conventional tourism reveals. With the support of my family in Sri Lanka, I finally founded Urlaub in Sri Lanka – a heartfelt project. We want to make the undiscovered beauty of Sri Lanka visible: authentic places, genuine encounters, and experiences that touch the heart.
As a young entrepreneur, I see it as our responsibility to rethink tourism – to make it more sustainable, respectful, and genuine. I have seen how transformative a trip to Sri Lanka can be: an escape from hectic everyday life, a break from the cold winter, or a spiritual journey to oneself. At the same time, I recognized how important it is for tourism to also benefit the local people – fair, mindful, and on equal terms. With Urlaub in Sri Lanka, I wanted to create more than just holiday offers. I wanted to provide space for real connections – between travelers and locals, between cultures, and between humans and nature.
To make the undiscovered beauty of Sri Lanka visible – through sustainable, authentic travel experiences that connect, touch, and leave a lasting impression.
