Before cooking begins, join our in-house Ayurvedic doctor for a short introduction to Ayurveda. Learn how food is viewed as medicine, how spices and ingredients influence balance and digestion, and how Ayurvedic meals are tailored to different body constitutions (doshas). This insightful workshop sets the foundation for your cooking journey.
Ayurvedic Cooking Class at Villa Nivartana
Back at Villa Nivartana’s open kitchen, you’ll prepare a wholesome Ayurvedic meal with your host. Cooking is done with traditional clay pots, coconut graters, and natural methods that bring out rich flavours and healing properties. Each dish is designed to balance the body while reflecting the soul of Sri Lankan cuisine.
All spices are sustainably sourced from nearby farmers and fairly traded, ensuring authentic taste while supporting local communities.
Cultural Sharing & Sit-Down Meal
After cooking, gather around the table at Villa Nivartana to enjoy the nourishing dishes you’ve created. Share stories with your hosts, discover mealtime rituals, and learn how food connects wellness and culture in Sri Lanka.
